Kid Awesome - Update

Here's another update on Kid Awesome, the mobile game I'm designing for class. The main character, Kid Awesome himself, a giant nasty rat, and some of the controls in the game. I wish I had more time to work on this project, it's actually a lot of fun...too bad it's due on Tuesday already.

Kid Awesome - In progress

Real quick update as I need to get going for a delicious raclette diner with my boyfriend (jealous much?). A sketch of Kid Awesome, the hero of the game I'm designing for my Game Design class (we don't actually have to design it visually, mostly in text form, but I indulge sometimes).

Also an update on the lame naked title I posted last night. Still not final but it's getting there. Again, we don't have to create any visuals for this project, so this is all fluff.

Lame preview

This has got to be the most boring update ever, but I felt horribly shameful that I didn't have anything new to post today. So I am posting the IN PROGRESS title I've been working on tonight for the game design I'm preparing for school. It's not even close to what it's meant to look like. I think. Well, maybe. Either way it doesn't look like much at all right now. Basically this post is completely useless and if you've gotten this far into it already I should probably apologize to you personally and bake you cupcakes with sprinkles.

Gemini

I'm apparently looking for every possible excuse not to be working on the game design proposal I have to do for my Game Design course (it went from watching X-Men First Class to playing way too much Robot Unicorn Attack Evolution, and included some Curb Your Enthusiasm and Facebooking), and so here I am posting a little something out of the blue. This is a Christmas present I made for my aunt back in December. Twin koi fish, her favourites, to embody the Gemini (Gémeaux in French) astrological sign. Someone pointed out to me that the koi fish allude more to the Pisces sign, which looking back on it I think is true. If I end up making a whole series as I intend to, this will probably be recycled as Pisces.

Ok now I really must get working on my game design!! GO.

Little Spaceman

Today's drawing is a little spaceman with a short attention span. Why yes, I am a poet, thank you for noticing.

LEGEND OF NAD

Sometimes it's useful to remind ourselves how much we take Photoshop for granted and spend a little while kicking and swearing in good old MS Paint.

Today's daily drawing, the new destop wallpaper I made for Marc-Antoine, Link rocking out to the sound of Awesomeness, drawn freehand in Paint.

For those of you wondering, NAD is the name of our school, hence the title on the wallpaper.

Hula dancing and a boring chair.

In case anyone was worrying themselves sick over the fact that I hadn't posted in 24 hours, fret not, I am still alive and I have NOT fallen behind on my daily drawings. For real. I just didn't have time to post yesterday but here goes.

Yesterday's drawing, Timon dancing the hula. Copied directly from the Lion King's artwork cause I was uninspired (it's okay, it happens, don't judge me).

And today's drawing is just a reading corner drawn during my Game Design class.

Oh and also because I am posting late, you get a bonus doodle inspired by Fruit Ninja (the mobile game).

Daily Drawings from the weekend

Saturday I drew a fish. Today I drew some sort of weird constipated Mexican wrestler. Strange you say? Meh, why not.

Also a drawing of an awesome space shrimp by my friend Marc-Antoine who was dying to get featured on my oh-so-awesome blog (his words, I swear).

Beer labels Design

My boyfriend Bruno has been interested in beer brewing for a while, and a couple months ago started brewing on a regular basis (yay free beer!). I decided to try my hand at label design, based on the names he had found for two of his first brews. We didn't do a very fancy printing job as these aren't commercialized, but I still had a lot of fun working on them.

Umbrella Monsters don't like the rain.

I'm already posting my second post. I'M SO PROLIFIC.

Daily sketch from today.

I guess the End of the World is coming up...

I can't believe I'm actually sitting down and writing my first blog post. I've managed to push this moment back 3 years by all sorts of twisted ways summed up under one big fat LAZINESS label. I'm seriously pretty amazed this is happening. But how exciting, right? Well, to me anyway.
SO.
I guess a mini intro is in order for the millions of hypothetical die-hard fans of mine out there (wouldn't that be nice). Simply put, my name's Fanny, I'm 23, I've got a BFA in traditional Film Animation and I'm currently studying 3D Animation and FX at Centre NAD in Montreal. I dabble in a bit of everything from actual animation to graphic design, but my main field of interest is in environments design both for Stop-Motion and 3D.
The main reason behind this blog is that I've decided to get back into daily drawing, because I'm actually motivated to do it at this point in time, and I figured this is a good way for me to keep a record of those sketches. Also, I want to use this as an opportunity to share some stuff I bump into which I find inspiring.
And of course, what better way to start a blog than a cuddly squirrel.
